I could write about why Gareth Bale is deserving of his PFA Player of the Year award or I could write about why he’s not even the second best player in the Spurs side so quite how he won it is beyond me. I could even discuss the madness of him winning the overall best player award at the same time as coming second in the young player award. However, I think I’ll leave that until tomorrow or maybe never at all.
Instead it’s just a quick update today as someone’s brought to my attention the first leaked image of Under Armour’s first Spurs kit. My opinion is it can’t be our home kit. Much more likely a complete fake or a training top mock up. There’s far too much blue to be a home kit and with today’s game being all about money and visible sponsorship I can’t see how a kit design that makes a sponsor’s logo difficult to see would be allowed, but it’s fun to speculate anyway.
Oh, of course there’s also the fact Under Armour won’t be manufacturing our kits until the 2012-13 season so this is one early “leak”. Rest up my fellow yids (am I allowed to use that term any more?), for the next couple of days is NLD time.

I agree BAE has been great this season but can you honestly say he’s been better than Bale? When Bale and Lennon don’t play and we have no pace we have nothing. I would argue that without BAE and everyone else fit we’d struggle less.

BAE is quality, has proven his worth and is maturing all the time. Still capable of the odd lapse, but who isn’t? His defensive play has come on massively in the last year-18 months and his distribution is much more considered then it used to be. I can’t see why other people can’t see that, maybe its to do with his frank honesty about why he plays football and lives away from his preferred surroundings.
BAE is class. Skark8 is looney.
Bale and VDV are the only players of Spurs who, when in form, they can change positively for the club the course of a game with their individual qualities. As we’ve seen until now nobody else can do that.

Modric is player of the season beyond all doubt for me, with Bale second.
VDV’s put in a few really talismanic performances this season, particularly early on, but has trailed off, never looks fit, and seems to disrupt whatever system he’s put into. It’s just his first season though, and coming back fit and lighter next year withe a pre-season with the rest of the squad who knows…just as long as Harry’s comfortable with him and confident how he wants to play him, and what plan B is when he’s not available.
Absolutely LOVE the shirt and wish it were real. Not a fan of the inverted one though. With not a lot of tinkering and a bit of resizing you could get that shirt mostly white apart from the shoulders, back and one side panel, would be mighty. The only problem’d be (and it is a big one) sponsorship going across the mighty cockerel.

That kit is the nuts,something different and enough White and blue for everyone.also modders is no 1 no question,bale will b getting better and thank god we have him and bae has had a good season but often allows people too much room and sometimes seems too casual.

Bae has been great this season but for me I’d say the order of our top 5 this season would be in this order 1 Modric 2 bale 3 gallas ( signing of the season ) 4 daws 5 Bae van der vaart coming in just behind due to the fact he’s gone missing Second half of the season. Ive obviously based this on consistency which I believe the best players have to have.
When Bale is good he is very very good, where as Modric has been very good all season. However when Bale gets the ball and is running at speed everyone is out of their seats, where as Modric does not do that for me.
I can understand why Bale has been voted player of the season because he is so exciting to watch but Spurs can rely now on Modric to control the midfield in every game
Fully agree with Mod14 & B39 you have both got it spot on. Gallas has been our best signing this year. The future of Spurs must be built around Modders with either Hudd or Sandro partnering in midfield. VDV is unbalancing the midfield playing too close meaning we have to hold up play allowing the opposition time to re-group and close down, get back to 4-4-2 with Pav/Defoe or Pav/VDV and allow Mod/Hudd to play long diagonal passes to the wing-men or straight to forwards and we`ll finish the season in style, don`t continue stiffeling our creative midfield, play the Spurs way. Getting back to the kit………we are exactly what it says on the tin………Lillywhite, nuf said. COYS.
Bale is our most valuable player. There is no disputing that. The reason he is the most valuable player is the same reason he was voted player of the year by his peers. One thing though, why the fk do any of you lot care about the PFA awards? They have got nothing to do with us. If they had a fans player of the year that was taken seriously I could understand the consternation. Personally I think anybody who spends more than 30 seconds of their lives paying attention to awards ceremonies (luvvy actors; self congratulating singers and songwriters – and football players) needs to get out more.

Modric is the best player but bale close second. The other man who makes a huge diffrence is ledley king, when he plays we look so much better. He is with out doubt the worlds best central defender if he is fit. We need to clear out few players like pav, crouch, woodgate etc. We need to go back to 4-4-2 and bring in world class strikers and one central defender and a keeper. Suggest green as keeper, roger johnson as defender and up front major surprise grant holt who even in premiership willcause defenders huge problems hes built like andy carroll but a far more dangerous player who will score goals no prob and will hold the ball up and will be cheap and splash out on benzema.
Modric has been the most consistant player and for me the best by far. The next I’d say has to be between Dawson/Lennon/Bale/Vaart

Wow how things get about, the blue under armour shirt was created by me as a mock up when I first heard of the new kit make. I wasn’t a big fan of the design myself to be honest, so critics who hate it have every right lol.
